Many true and brave French soldiers have given their lives in pursuit of freedom. The military doesn’t make policy and they damn sure don’t elect leaders. Neither does ours—we are a tiny percentage of the overall population.

French soldiers died in far bigger numbers than Brits, and surrendered less often. I hate that slander on the French soldiers. Only an idiot wholly unacquainted with the reality could say they have ever been cowardly.
Their generals and politicians, that’s another matter.
