I missed the part where Shep is rewriting history and denying that the Civil War ever took place or that the Confederacy really existed.

I missed the part where Shep is rewriting history and denying that the Civil War ever took place or that the Confederacy really existed. As far as I'm concerned, removing public recognition of historic figures merely because they owned slaves is the first step in rewriting history. Anyone who is not "all good" by today's standards of political correctness is all bad, represents hate, and is not to be recognized in any way. Slavery was evil, but even slave owners (and non slave owners who fought for the South) should not be reduced to that one aspect of their lives alone.
Trivia: Having traced my ancestry back to before each ancestor arrived in the United States, I found many who fought on each side in the Civil War but none who owned slaves in this country.
