I agree that the budget deal is a sh*tty deal, but am not yet ready to accuse Trump of betrayal. I will at least entertain the idea that he is playing chess instead of checkers - only time will tell. On the other hand, I am disappointed that Trump seems to be slow in recognizing that Ryan, McConnell (and sometimes Pence) actively seek out surrender.

Trump seems to be promising a shutdown over the 2018 fiscal year budget. Let’s hope that he means it. I have always assumed that “draining the swamp” would be difficult and fraught with setbacks. Trump has made progress in the areas which he controls and seems to still be figuring out how to work with congressional Republicans. At the moment I am still hopeful, but steamed about the steaming pile of manure that everyone calls a budget.

The people who "get it" the best are those who have followed the budgeting process for years, or those who have otherwise taken the time to study it closely.

Both sides are spinning, which is typical/normal. The OP is a crock of BS. Garbage on top of garbage. This too is typical of the sort of information the partisans on both sides are fed.
