China demanded on Tuesday an immediate halt to a controversial US missile shield hours after Washington announced that the defence system was now operational in South Korea.
Washington and Seoul agreed to the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery deployment in July in the wake of a string of North Korean missile tests.
But its deployment has infuriated China, which fears it will weaken its own ballistic missile capabilities and says it upsets the regional security balance.

Yes. China is against this and Obama refused to deploy it.
So China’s ire is raised again now that Trump has taken office and will, of course, deploy defensive systems for us and our allies.
Now do people see what this N Korea situation is about?
It is the vehicle the communists are using to try and get the US to not deploy this defense system.

That’s exactly what China wants.
That’s why they are doing the psychodrama with Kim.
So we will un-deploy THAAD.
It’s a time tested scam they have done on every administration for a long time.
“Note to China: You don’t want THADD in South Korea, then YOU go take out North Korea’s WMD and missile programs, take ‘em out, root and branch; then South Korea would not need THADD. The ball is in your court.”
Yes.
Of course we know that’s only a rhetorical point.
Lets hope that Trump does a better job this time.

Yet both have deployed their own missile defense shield.
It’s what, in general ways, Trump should be saying to China. There can be no change in the course of having THAAD in South Korea as long as the WMD & missile program continues in the north. When that threat to South Korea is eliminated, THADD could be also, but not until.
No more giving up things to appease the north. Its WMD program’s demise is not a negotiable term.
Why do we allow reporters to say that “China” is “infuriated” when they are no such thing. They are calculating dictators stop making it sound like the Chinese people or their government are mad at us. They stated a position. Period.
Tell lil’ Kim to back off and the missiles go away!
Tell China to pound sand, everyone has a right to defense.
Too late. It is deployed and operational.
