Limbaugh Begs Trump: Shove This "Government Shutdown Garbage" Down "Every Orifice" Of The Democrats

RUSH LIMBAUGH: In the case of this wall business, the only thing about it that bothers me folks, is the 'governmen shutdown' aspect. I want the Democrats shut down once and for all on this. I want them eating this. And I want all kinds of horrible-tasting stuff on it when they swallow it. I want this 'government shutdown' stuff rammed in every orifice of theirs whether you can see it or not. And I want them to eat it, I want them to chew it, and I want them to swallow it. And I don't want them to ever regurgitate it.

I am so sick and tired of this. It is one of the biggest lies, one of the biggest misrepresentations, one of the biggest... tricks that the Republicans have ever fallen for..

The government never totaly shuts down. If it did no one would ever notice unless the media was out there whining about it.

Please explain how Trump can build wall without congress funding approval?
*************************************************************

One way is to reallocate funds previously approved. It has been done many times before with other Administrations.

I find it interesting that the Dems are threatening to shut down the government, thereby proving that they are the ones shutting it down, and yet still blame Repubs.

Even more so that they will say the Repubs made them do it and the "media" will go along, without ever hinting at how it's OK to shut down the government... depending on which side does it.

Great ideas. There need to be consequences to the uniparty from a shut down so the pressure is on them not on the American people. Using the layoffs as a winnowing tool to decrease the ranks of nonessential Federal employees would be poetic justice & a step in the right direction.

Very good ideas...and so’s your tagline! But you need to include Otraitor, too.

Well said noob.

If president Trump doesn’t use his bully pulpit to fight for what he insisted he would do if we voted for him, he’s done.

All he has to do is say, “No. If you won’t fund border security, you don’t get funding for Planned Infanticide. And a lot of other things.”

All of this, “No worries. We’ll do it next time. Maybe.” here on FR is disgusting.

One way is to reallocate funds previously approved. It has been done many times before with other Administrations.

Only Congress can do that, too. Funding bills are very specific, and in order to change where that funding goes, one must get congressional approval.

How then can the president take the nation too war if necessary without going thru the Congress as he is able too do via the War Powers Act?

Suppose the President deems the wall a national security issue? Would he then be able to allocate funds off budget?

It is my understanding that he can only do so for 60 days without Congressional approval. After that, Congress needs to approve funding for it.

Same with the wall. All funding comes from congress. They hold the purse strings.

I know they do but in the case of conflict where does the initial money come from. The president has very broad power when it comes to national security and it seems it would be dangerous for him to have wait on Congress in the case of a threat to the country.

Most of it's already paid for, or appropriated for. The military members are already being paid, the equipment and supplies, weapons, and ammo, are already there for an initial conflict. The only additional cost would be transportation and set up of the bases of operation. Again, the equipment would already be in inventory for an initial operation, and further operations would require further appropriations.

I find disgusting that every time the government closes, the government “workers” are retro-paid...giving them yet more paid vacation. This ALWAYS happens. RIF these parasites-with-attitude.

You, sir, are exactly right! It's time to get tough on the Dems and their satrap government unions and their legions of mostly worthless employees and greedy parasite programs.

Enough GOP cowardice, already!
