Seriously, at this point why do we even care if they test their nuclear weapons? I mean, we know they have nuclear weapons so they aren’t proving anything by testing them. In fact perhaps we should be ENCOURAGING tests as often as possible since every one they waste in a test is one fewer they will have if it comes to war. And most analyst say they most likely only have enough nuclear material for 8-12.

Continued testing tells them how reliable their biggest one at the moment is, at the same time (ironically) it would also reveal miniaturization tech.

Sanger and Broad wrote a hella good article on some of this topic at NYeT this week.
