I agree that prison conditions are deplorable; a sentence of a few years should not result in death by AIDS after being gang-raped under government supervision.
So how about we re-adopt the quaker model? When you get sent to prison, you are locked in a cell, and the door is CLOSED until the sentence is up.
As I recall, they threw in a bible for you to read. Take care of it, it is the only book you will see until the sentence is done.
How about that we do not react to one evil with more evils?
And how about the thing Jesus said: “I was in prison and you visited me”? (Or failed to)
Forget Quaker. Look to God.
