As an aside, a family friend stopped by for coffee the other day. And once seated in the living with her coffee, she said, "what is that odor?"
I told the truth...I usually do.
"My tomcat sprayed me after breakfast."
Right after he sprays me, he runs up for a head but.
But...hey, that's what's loving cats is all about.
He told me he loves me...in a way that lasts all day.
It is his way of thanking me.
The head butt was just him patronizing you, saying "Bless your little heart."
I’m guessing that yours was one of her more memorable coffee klatch conversations.
