For some of us, the best world is cuts to EPA, etc and no money spent on the WALL. cut, cut, cut

All 12 of you. Cutting taxes does not impress a man that has no job and Conservatives never seem to grasp that fact. Not getting funding for the wall this budget pushes it to next year and there will be elections which likely will give us a democrat congress if Ryan keeps shanking the President. It is all about perceptions if it wasn't then Ryan would have stuck some chump change in the budget. The assumption now is he has bent the President to his will that is what people are upset about right now but that anger will bleed over into a lot of other issues and an election will be held before any of those are solved.

Forget 4D chess and start some bare knuckles tactics.

As I recall, candidate Trump said very loudly over and over and over.......Mexico will pay for the wall

Thus, there is no need for the congress to provide money. Trump will get it from Mexico.

I was clearly talking about cutting spending, not taxes.
Cutting spending also does not impress a man with no job.

Yes, it is about perceptions. Right now the perception is that there are at least 4 factions of Republicans who cannot agree.
- Trump and his loyalists.
- Ryan and his loyalists.
- Freedom Caucus and
- RINOS on Ryan’s left who would not vote for Ryancare.

Currently the economy is growing. Come election time, if the economy is not in recession, the Republicans have the POTENTIAL to do well in 2018.

But elections depend a lot on the local candidate and local organization and not on what any of the 4 R factions in DC say or do.

Witness the GA 6th. Despite media attempts to say otherwise, the GA 6th has zero to do with what is happening in DC; zero to do with Trump. Republican Handel’s TV ads ran away from Trump more than Democrat Ossoff’s TV ads.

The GA 6th comes down to the fact that Ossoff is defining both himself and Handel. Both Handel and the Republican organizations (are they organizations if they are not organized?) are playing defense and are very defensive and are allowing Ossoff to set the theme and tempo of the campaign.

The same will be true in 2018. If in 2018 a Murdoch-type says something stupid about unborn babies or a Walsh-type Republican attacks a wounded warrior then they will lose.

If the local candidate and organization run a smart campaign then they will win.
