I grew up in Newark. Drug use was rampant; my friends did it, I sat in school next to junkies; later, it was at the job.
I never tried it once.

Where I lived it was rampant. But, in high school I didn’t, nor did anyone in my group of close friends.

But, what he’s saying is very true for the 70’s.

I guess it depends where one grew up.
