It’s the advance against royalties. Some publishers think a book will be an instant best seller and they will advance millions to get it. Hillary pulled that scam off. She only had a few book tour engagements because no one showed up for them.

Yep, I’m sure that’s the way it will be explained. And that explanation will fly. It’s the perfect cover for a bribe.

Yep. A publisher can advance an author any amount of money it wishes to. If it doesn't make that back in sales, too bad so sad. It's a perfect cover for bribery and it's completely legal.
