Fox News Channel parent News Corporation may be wrapped up in the sexual harassment accusations surrounding host Bill OReilly, but the company is facing another long-running scandal involving what appear to be exuberant payments to a Democrat payments that occurred even as News Corp. was lobbying the New York State executive branch, which Gov. Andrew Cuomo oversees.

Andrew told them “Buy the book or Guido breaks your legs!”
If he's smart, he'll buy a million of them.....
It is called influence buying.

I could possibly agree with you, but what did Newscorp get out of it and why was it reported from the NY Times, a liberal rag with a terrible history of lies?
From what I got out of the article, the lobbying efforts were for some really nothing situations like giving $15 an hour to newspaper people and property rights for dead people. There must be more they didn’t tell us, which is not a surprise.

I gotta agree with you there. The legislation under question seems relatively minor. Yet News Corp paid big bucks for a book that would almost certainly flop.
Cuomo has been mentioned as a possible Dem candidate for president in 2020. So perhaps News Corp is just buying a little insurance/influence here. Much the same way the banks paid Hillary big bucks for boilerplate speeches back in 2014.

Good chance. But I can’t see a minor news group in comparison to the majors like ABC, NBC, CBS, or all the news outlets like the NY Times, the Chicago Trib, the SF Harold Examiner, the LS times, or even the San Jose Merc News that stand a better chance of getting the exclusive interviews to flood the public with to sell the stupidity. Especially since News Corp is owned by Rupert Murdoch, the big harries of Fox. Don’t see a real chance there coming from a blatant liberal running a blatant liberal campaign. I see that as the future of the libs.
