I’m here every morning 5-6 A.M. with my cup of coffee.Don’t post much-seems as if other people say the things I would say-only better.
Your kitchen is truly awesome! Love the cabinets. Sorry you didn’t get your black iron cook stove. Am dreading the day it becomes too hot to run mine. Hubby has chicken, baked potatoes and biscuits ready to put in for “supper” tonight. We still have “dinner” here at noon when we go to the beach and eat, giving our bread crusts to the gulls who have learned to wait for us and nearly fly in the car window in their eagerness to beat out other gulls.
Have planted 60 strawberry plants (picked 110 quarts last year). Try to have a smaller garden every year, but doesn’t seem to end that way, much to the pleasure of our relatives and neighbors. Daughter said last year,”mom, please don’t plant enough green beans for the whole town.”
We still harvest 4-5 cords of wood every summer thinking every year that next year we will have to buy it and have it delivered, but as we truly enjoy “wooding” as we call it, will continue as long as we can. Worry about hubby using chain saw alone so try to be with him when he is using it as I would rather be outside than in the house any day.
Yes, I am a Trump fan in this blue state. Hillary had me so upset with her criminal activities. How anyone could condone her criminality!!!
Welcome to the Trump Family Train thread, upcountry miss.
Glad to have you here.
Never be afraid to speak up here, every opinion counts.
We don’t have “Thought Police” or “Grammar Police” here.
We may not agree with someone but try to be kindly in pointing it out.
BTW I’m the naughty lady who got lost for a few weeks that CottonBall spoke of, didn’t let my FRiends know I would be gone awhile, won’t happen again, I REPENTED. LOL
We really care about each other here and enjoy our mutual love of our President Trump.
You are amazing! 110 quarts of strawberries?
Oh I forgot that you cook on a wood stove. I would love to have one of those! Maybe in another room eventually, because it sure would make the kitchen hot in the summer. I love splitting and stacking wood to, something is very calming about it. Throw said it warms you twice, once when you cut it and once when you burn it. I really like that the government doesn’t Texas. Free heat!
please check in more often. I would love to hear what you were doing. There’s not enough people living the simple country life, in my opinion. You take us back to a wonderful time, a time that if the global elite’s have their way, we might have to live that way again. More people need to hear about it and contemplated. I know that reading everything on Granny’s thread really help to cement in my mind that that was the life I wanted. Since then, we packed up and moved to 18 acres in East Tennessee. We couldn’t stand being in the city any longer. After researching the entire United States, creating spreadsheets of data, and then going to actually look at the areas we chose the corner of East Tennessee, where North Carolina and Virginia intersect.
Hubby just up and quit his job and we moved here, planning on living on savings for a while. It was without a doubt worth it, even though I was counting pennies often. Hubby just got a job, and this is the second week working at it. And the Lord provided. Several opportunities didn’t work out and we were wondering if we made a mistake. But God had a better plan he got a job where he gets to work out of the house most of the time and travel, hopefully not too much. And makes more money than those other jobs! So we’re going to save every penny, so he can quit work Shortly, and we can live the good country life, being a self-sufficient as possible.
So I need your experience and motivation! Wonderful to hear from you.
Welcome aboard the Trump FRamily threads!!
Your lifestyle and home setting sounds idyllic.
Strawberries are my absolute favorite thing in the world, to eat. I love every fruit and veggie, but strawberries are my fave and I could eat them EVERY day!
Thanks for sharing your cooking and harvest story, Miss ;-)
