My previous statement still stands, but I find this to be hard to believe. IPads have no way to connect via hardline. The government would never transmit classified materials over WiFi, ever.

Yes and no. Your post is essentially correct but recall what we learned from Hillary’s Server fiasco.
The Hildebeast had underlings strip the gist of official transmissions from their classified signage and resend to her using private email over WiFi. She defeated the security measures that were in place to protect the classified materials and used her official government status to accomplish it.
I would guess that they would load the ipad with his briefing documents using a wired connection.
Keep on believing that. Just like Hillary didn’t use her portable device to send/receive emails (that by nature would have been a wireless method).
And a VPN connection is well within the normal capabilities of an iPad, so the “wireless” aspect is somewhat of a moot point (though I won’t argue it is all that secure).
