Not a single member of Congress who represents the territory on the southwest border said they support President Donald Trumps request for $1.4 billion to begin construction of his promised wall, according to a Wall Street Journal survey, testing the administrations ability to reach a deal on government funding next week.
Most lawmakers representing the regionboth Democrats and Republicanssaid they are opposed and many said they have unanswered questions. A few were noncommittal, but not a single member of the House or Senate representing the region expressed support for the funding request. That includes nine members of the House and eight senators across four states: Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.
Still, the White House is holding firm on its position.
Youre always going to have constituencies within both parties that have local issueswe get that, Mick Mulvaney, the head of the Office of Management and Budget, said in an interview. He added that the GOP leadership is on board to fight for the funding because they know its a priority for the president.

A maze could be interesting. Some non-lethal booby traps? Maybe have pay per view?
Silly, that job belongs to a judge in Hawaii.
“Is there any support for a well-placed, well-financed Texas Republican to successfully Primary Cruz?”
I hope so. I’d hate to have to vote Democrat next November, but I will if Cruz is the only other option, and he doesn’t get his act together.
“The wall was promised... but would they dig under and still climb over?”
Obviously the wall is useless if it is not backed up with humans - but as others have noted here, the wall is a force multiplier, making it much, much, easier for the same number of men to keep the border secure. As to tunneling - maybe a few people willing to pay huge prices, but the real payoff for tunnels is drugs...why risk a few thousand per human, when you can get hundreds of times more than that it in drugs, and drugs don’t require buses to move out into the country, nor will they give away the tunnel locations.
I haven’t gone behind the WSJ wall for the whole article, but besides Cruz there are a couple of AZ reps in favor of the wall, so any objections must be to the type of financing.
Who might Primary Cruz?
Answer my question.... I do not see a list of names just that a survey was taken.
Hell I can take a survey and make it look anyway I want to if I do not publish the names.
Where are the NAMES ON THE LIST?
Now show me the list of names before you bother me again.
No I am not and I am not but I would like to see a name on a list before I went off on him half cocked like you.
IIRC there are two Senator from each State and I would bet Cornyn would be the one voting nay before Cruz but until I see a LIST I cannot say one way or the other.
This is what media and the left do to stupid republicans. They divide yawl right down the middle by getting yawl to end fight against yourselves allowing them to win the battle EVERY TIME.
So stupid it hurts but yawl never ever catch on.
Do yawl? Nope, never.
Oh, one of those promises. One that does not stick to teflon.
Just one to get votes in middle America so that you do not look like a New Yawk Handy Man
