I understand the point you are trying to make, but I don’t believe that a sexual relationship between teacher and pupil of that age could ever be considered “consensual” due to the position of authority and trust that the teacher is abusing. Even if they were closer in age, the teacher/student relationship when it becomes a sexual one, involves coercion.

Even if it’s a 20-21 year old college student? I don’t think so.

While the age difference may bother some people, that is not the basic problem. The are three fundamental mistakes here (setting aside the question of her consent, if she didn’t consent, it’s clearly kidnapping/rape)

1) He’s married.
2) He had a position of authority and influence over her
3) Even if 1) and 2) were not issues, at her age, parental consent is required.

Hopefully, this was a case of misplaced infatuation gone around the bend. It will still require severe punishment, but is not as bad as outright kidnapping/rape.
