I would really like Kennedy to go first, because replacing him with a more conservative R would by itself significantly shift the Court, and while Dems would of course scream and cry, in the end replacing an R with another R wouldn’t be as hard.

If Buzzi croaks, the fight to replace her with a conservative will be Armageddon.

Yes, but if Trump serves two terms replacing Ginzburg is, surely, ultimately a foregone conclusion. And in that context, perhaps replacing Ginzburg first would be easier in the long run.

Whenever Trump has a vacancy to fill, he should refer to his list - and, perhaps, ask the senators for advice on a selection from that list. Trump can and should argue that the list got him elected, and it is only proper that he limit his consideration to names which are on it. That position certainly puts the Democrat senators on the wrong foot if they undertake to say that they will fight tooth and nail against accepting any choice from a list of 20 who have all been vetted by the election.
