Nope Ailes could never compete on that playing field using the cheapskates meager funding - crumbs Murdock meted out.

Ailes could put a conservative in front of a camera - sitting at a folding table - with no graphics, no far flung reporters, no hightech anything... And crowds would beat down his door to watch. One person - sitting at a table for an hour a night - five nights a week. One person NOT a liberal elites.
And that was the genius.
If Murdock's dorky kids want to compete with liberal networks they're gonna have to put a whole lot more money into the operation because NO ONE is going to rush through dinner to watch a bored snarky liberal elite trash them and their life. If Murdock's kids want to do that they better shell out big bucks for name talent, A-list guests and reporters stationed in news bureaus all over the world.
