Socialism hasn't worked anywhere it has been tried. Yet it is still a magnet for so many. Socialism is a magnet because it protects the lazy, the inept and the dysfunctional from having to sufferer the consequences of their own incompetence. It does that by forcing the ept and productive to carry their parasitical asses. Of course human parasites love Socialism.

They (the leaders) don’t care if it “works” per se.
What they want is the destruction of the West, free markets, and yes, freedom in general.
It’s a magnet for the masses, because of the (false) prospect of prosperity and comfort, without effort and work.
The result is always, misery for all, except the privileged few that are in command.
