Over the past 20 years at Fox News, I have been extremely proud to launch and lead one of the most successful news programs in history, which has consistently informed and entertained millions of Americans and significantly contributed to building Fox into the dominant news network in television. It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims. But that is the unfortunate reality many of us in the public eye must live with today. I will always look back on my time at Fox with great pride in the unprecedented success we achieved and with my deepest gratitude to all my dedicated viewers. I wish only the best for Fox News Channel.
Andrea is a consenting adult, therefore, no harassment. How do I know? Because she didn’t hang up. Because I would have hung up the phone. So would you have. You think I would put up this behavior? Hell no, and it could not have gone that far because I would have hung up. I would not have consented. Andrea did not hang up. She continued with the calls, night after night. Therefore, she was consenting. What consenting adults do is their business.
Married 26 years and four kids
LaJolla preppie with northeastern schools like St George in R.I.
is that as cool as Portsmouth Abbey? Or Choate or Hotchkiss
I had friends I grew up with went to the Abbey...long ways
Tucker comes from a fairly posh fam and yes it shows
I agree less libs on his show would be nice but he's capable the way he holds his cool
Unlike me..lol
Fox though is in trouble
Bannon should say screw the crap and get cash and start new network and Trump could grease regulatory skids
$40M gets you a lot of falafel.
She very well may be, which would make O’Reilly a stupid, reckless pervert who can’t control his behavior, even if he’s directing it towards someone intent on causing extensive financial and reputation damage to himself and his employer. See, the point isn’t at all whether the woman was an innocent “victim”, or whether she was a sociopathic machiavellian blackmailer running a long con. The employer pays the same in either case.
Maybe Bret Baier too.
The Luffah Not protests too much
Fare Thee Well Mr. O’Reilly and best of luck in whatever the future holds for you even if that is retirement.
Like him or hate him; O’Reilly did help the conservative cause in his own way and produced a talking points format that millions enjoyed. No one can take that away from him.
I stopped watching his show a couple of years ago and not long after that got ride of cable altogether but for a time I did look forward to the Factor.
Guilty until proven otherwise... that’s the new norm. Allegations is all that’s needed anymore.
If he’s guilty he gets what he deserves if he’s not guilty that could be a huge lawsuit as well.
I see Ailes and others shtarting a new conservative channel it will be bigger and better than fox
FOX is definitely NOT doing the right thing. I will try to explain myself. When I was a girl, whistling or a bit of leering at an attractive woman was a harmless way of letting her know the guy was interested in dating her. Now, if he was married, that was different and looked down upon. During the last 10 or so years, it seems that homosexual and lesbian folks have begun to dominate public discourse in our major institutions and, therefore, despise a show of heterosexual interest between the sexes. Those of us with any age on us remember predicting some problems when women began to occupy more work outside the home in places usually populated by males. However, the legal profession practiced some morality then and no one could have predicted that lawyers would begin to bring lawsuits against everyone in sight, charging, often time, normal behaviors with a reason to rob people of their resources. At first, medicine and the corporate world were the soft targets for lawsuits, most of which, like O’Reilly’s, would be settled to get rid of the nuisance. It was worth the price not to have to take precious time away from business to fight the thing in court. And, that is what has brought us to this day. If these cases would be tried in court, most of them would be considered frivolous and would fail. The left wing media, entertainment and ambulance chasing lawyers have the potential to paralyze the normal functioning of life within any country, because of cases brought, most of which are settled out of court, but their victories are empty cause they are not built on truth. More often they have to destroy to get what? Money in the bank and political power is the goal. I have a piece of truth to put out there. We come into this world with nothing and leave it with nothing and while we are here we have a chance to treat all people fairly as we would like to be treated. In this world, as in all the past behind us, envy, jealousy, human trafficking for sex with young girls, young boys and little children, drug addiction everywhere in high places, Godless societies, genocide, racial hatred and the most vile behavior for entertainment you can imagine, too often, becomes the norm when the disintegration which we are now witnessing, occurs. Why has this happened to America. It is simple. Our form of government will not work in a anti-moral and Godless nation. So, we will see who comes along, eventually, to replace the pajama boys and girls now moving into positions of power, using breath-taking means to do so. The new wealth and affluence attained by people who have become drunk on the power of that has brought us to this point. Will the wake-up call come when a biological bomb of small pox is released in NY and CA, as Bill Gates fears? Could be. Stayed tuned. What goes around usually does come around. Enjoy yourselves, Murdock's, as the leftist media in this nation gloats over the carcass of Bill O’Reilly, taking away any credit he should have for his long life of service to your family business. As much as I like Tucker Carlson, Hannity, Judge Jeanine, and most on The FIVE, and all at FOX BUSINESS, I will not be watching them or anyone else. It will be radio for me, listening and playing good music, and reading good books. I will rely on Drudge and FreeRepublic for keeping me up-to-date on what I should know. FOX should have fought these cases in court. They are not doing the right thing, but the new Pajama Boys (my impression) have spoken and Dad loves them too much and is too old to resist.
BTT
Nice happy family. The smiles and body language don’t look phoney.
Without "The Factor" to bring in the prime time viewers FOX NEWS will fall from first place like a speeding bullet.
This will turn out to be a bigger boondoggle than New Coke.
CNN and MSNBC are dancing in the streets.
Where is the evidence?
This is the liberal position on evidence:
The seriousness of the charge mandates that we investigate this.
Even though there is no evidence, the seriousness of the charge is what matters.
-- Tom Foley (1929-2013) former Democrat Speaker Of The House
Smoke? Fire?
Bill O’Reilly doggedly lied about the crudely-forged “birth certificate,” which has finally been PROVEN to be a forgery.
Since when are lewd conversations illegal or worth millions in penalties and fees? That law makes about as much sense as outlawing certain types of light bulbs. And it’s unconstitutional.
Like Chris Rock said, the only real sexual harassment is when you tell someone they have to have sex with you or you’ll fire them. While there was evidence to indicate Ailes might have been involved in job-related retaliation like that, nobody has presented anything showing O’Reilly retaliated against women via their jobs.
The whole idea of getting the bedroom police out there to investigate people’s sexual relationships and comments is exactly what’s happening to railroad young men on college campuses. This is all cooked up by man-hating feminists and social justice witchhunters, the kind of people who believe every sexual act a man does is a rape. And they are increasingly getting sexual assault and sexual harassment legally defined to back up their belief system.
I agree O’Reilly had moral failings with respect to his marriage. But the idea that your boss can or should fire you because of such things is ludicrous. If a company fired a woman because he disapproved of her sex life, the feminists would be suing that company for millions. And no actor would be allowed to work in Hollywood again.
O’Reilly is not the only stakeholder here. There are 4-5 million viewers whose opinion matters much more than a handful of corporate executives. Fox has the right to fire him, but it’s a serious mistake for any business to ignore the demands of their customer base.
I say the timing of this, its proximity to the EY’s approval of News Corp’s takeover of Sky, is very interesting.
I think the uniparty, on both sides of The Pond, has managed to neuter News Corp.
EU, that is...
