A passenger aboard United Airlines Flight 3411 said that one of the three officers who dragged a Kentucky doctor off the plane was laughing during the chaotic episode.
In a Letter to the Editor published in the Chicago Tribune this week, Louisville, Kentucky, resident Jason Powell wrote how he was a witness to the Sunday incident that involved David Dao, 69, being physically dragged off a full flight before takeoff at OHare Airport.
The disgusting mishandling of the situation included everyone from the rude ticket agent who demanded that this man give up his seat on the flight
to one of the officers laughing in the midst of the incident, to the violent, abusive way the passenger was dragged off the plane by the officer, Powell wrote.

“Basically by refusing to get off the plane the perp has said to everyone else on that plane that he is better than they are.”
Disagree. The “perp” was saying he is equal to the other passengers.
He was seated like the others. This isn’t the military and it wasn’t an emergency situation. He had every right to his seat. Calling the police was inflammatory and unnecessary.
The airline should have done the right thing.
That's OK, they can go back to their regular jobs now
It just keeps going on and on. United is crazy to not pay up in a gag order settlement to get this out of the news.
Took my son to the airport early this morning for a flight and jokingly asked him if he was flying United.
The glare back at me was priceless.
“I doubt the security forces were laughing. No video proof of it, but for hear say.”
You may be right but the headlines pile-on from the original incident only magnifies the bad optics for United.
We are now a police state. Unfortunately cooler heads are prevailing with law enforcement types. And the lies from the left don’t help either. It’s setting up an us vs. them attitude on both sides.
We need some Andy Griffith common sense applied.
Yes, an unnecessary pile-on has ensued, when the event itself (already on Live film) was bad enough. Every sooth Sayer wants to make the news.
Unfounded stories seem to be all they have left.
Excellent point.
It started right after 9/11 when the TSA were allowed to invade a persons’ space and property for security and safety and it has gone down hill from there.
No doubt the new rules given to the TSA after 9/11 have emboldened them to do something like this. After all the “individuals” are now thought of as cattle.
They did. That's when he screamed like a little girl.
Well how should a 69 year old man look after he just had his nose broken and two teeth knocked out? Ever had that happen to you?
> “He looks like he is pretending as they drag him off.”
Yes, and he smeared fake blood all over his face, too.
‘they should have just tazed him’
They did, at point blank range. He was a non-aggressive 69 yo, which evidently means he needed a level of tasing that has resulted in the death of far younger people.
There it is. It's all part of some weird sex thing with you people isn't it?
“They did. That’s when he screamed like a little girl.”
‘There it is. It’s all part of some weird sex thing with you people isn’t it?’
Sex thing or not, the, ‘I don’t like the pitch at which he screamed when he was being tased to within an inch of his life,’ line of attack is repulsive. Perhaps there is a pettier, more childish basis on which to denigrate this elderly man, but it’s hard to imagine what it might be. The, ‘I don’t like the way he screamed,’ critique is about as catty and puerile as it gets.
Agree..the guy was faking it....just like soccor players faking injuries.
You can believe what you want, but the reality is that this guy is going eat United, the City of Chicago and the 3 thugs alive.
Agree..the guy was faking it....just like soccor players faking injuries.
Yup, just as fake as Joe Theismann.
He was faking it...but will still win big bucks
I almost puked the first time I saw that.
