Over the course of just one day, President Trump declared different positions than he took during the campaign on four issues.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal and at a press conference on Wednesday, President Trump declared that China is not a currency manipulator, entertained the possibility of re-appointing Janet Yellen as chair of the Federal Reserve, asserted that NATO is a relevant alliance and expressed a favorable view of the Export-Import Bank.
On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer portrayed the shifts as reactions to changing circumstances rather than an ideological modification.

They don’t understand that he is playing ten dimensional chess, while everyone else is playing Shoots & Ladders.
Not who I donated $400 bucks to....I want my money back.
Lindsey Graham, one of the women of the Senate, congratulated Trump on changing Ex-Im stance. That’s all you need to confirm it is a bad decision.
Well, it’s barely Wednesday. I expect him to flip back by Saturday.
Whoops it’s Thursday. Hurry up, President Trump!
So the left will now embrace Trump!
He lied and will not do anything he promised.
All should be well in lib land.
Right?
FYI! He states the most outrageous, knowing that cannot be accomplished. Then he negotiates to get what he really wanted in the first place.
Most people don't think like that. Call it subterfuge if you wish. But, in order to deal with who he has to deal with and get what he wants, it is necessary because his opponents are extremely duplicitous.
You just don’t understand strategic thinking, 3D chess, the Art of the Deal or you’re a NeverTrumper...../s
Then never Trumpers should be Ok now!
Right?
President Trump is all over the place. Not sure if a good thing or bad. Definitely causes everyone a lot of angst, me included. I am bothered by unkept promises re Obama’s executive orders and actions. Such simple things to do, yet among the first promises unkept. This other stuff involves a lot of posturing and is probably to be expected since Trump brought in people with differing viewpoints, there won’t be a clear message and I don’t think Trump really cares for there to be one.
Since the article is from ABC, it is probably fake news and not worth reading.
Don’t tell the other Never Trumpers:
Trump signs bill targeting funding for abortion providers (defunded PP)
Sometimes circumstances change. ABC wouldn’t understand that. Evidently many conservatives don’t either.
Here’s an example, suppose I say I’m not going to visit X anymore. The reason is that X is NeverTrump and I’m tired of the rants.
Suppose an big change happens, and X becomes a Trump supporter. I visit X. Everybody who heard me say I wasn’t going to do that anymore call me out. They say I flip-flopped.
I say things changed.
To truly understand Trump perhaps you need to read his book “ The Art Of The Deal “ .
As far as declaring that China is not a currency manipulator, I’m sure that is part of the deal with Xi to deal with North Korea.
“Definitely causes everyone a lot of angst, me included.”
I’m pretty much in that same frame of mind. I do recall him stating firmly in at least one of his speeches: “I WILL NEVER LIE TO YOU.”
If he doesn’t take the corporate tax to 15% as he promised, that isn’t good. He’s considering having Yellen stay on board. He seems to be waffling on several issues when he promised otherwise.
Whatever.
I have no idea, I have never been a NeverTrumper and I know of only one still on FR, but every slight questioning of President Trump elicits the accusation.
