When the Republicans won both the House and the Senate, I expected serious reforms.
The Republicans, under Newt, started to do them, got a couple though, then the Establishment Media recovered from their shock at the election and came down on them like a ton of bricks. The Establishment Media brought the Republican revolution to a standstill.
They lost a lot of credibility doing it; they revealed themselves, and have been losing more and becomeing more openly partisan ever since.
The alternate media and social media have grown. Trump was able to take advantage of these trends and defeat the Establishment.
