Funny that Loretta Lynch should mention that the US was “very divided”.

It always was. There are two different forces pulling at near diametrically opposite directions, one for “equality”, and one for “merit”. Many times these two forces are mutual exclusives, and the country has been on a particularly sharp edge of balance between the two in recent years. When “equality” is the leading drive, prosperity disappears and the country is actually in a decline financially and yes, morally.

When “merit” again surfaces, the individual rewards for achievement enables the high achievers to regain the lost ground, and while there is great moaning about loss of “equality”, still everybody except a very few enjoy a much higher quality of life. The very few, for the most part, by refusing to participate, isolate themselves from the shared bounty, and fall into “poor little me” whining and scolding the greater number, until a sufficient number get guilted into a sense of shame for “winning life’s lottery”, but the lottery is open to EVERYBODY, and it pays well to VERY will for most. But then limits and restrictions get slapped on the high achievers, and the goose that lays the golden eggs gets slaughtered again.
