Xi. ...as in guanxi.
Trump’s a genius.
First build the relationship.
I wasn’t aware this was supposed to be a showdown.
Or that Trump was any under compunction to share “progress” with the lefties at Chi-Trib.
What a maroon
The U.S.A. is the most powerful economy (and military) in the world today.
Obama hated it.
Trump revels in it.
The U.S.A. is back. And this is good for the world and what is right about the world.
God bless the U.S.A.
Mr. Xi got a firsthand look at how President Trump acts in a crisis, watched as a new US Supreme Court justice was confirmed, and saw thousands of new jobs being created by US companies, in the US.
A very educational visit, I would say.
Who viewed it as a showdown? Sounds like a lot hyperbole from the Chicago Tribune.
And also from the same neighborhood as China.
If he can get the South Korea policy right it will help to box in Kim Jong-un.
President Trump's Thursday night fireworks show won't hurt either.
.
Amazing when you have adults in charge they get along....
Meaning: The meeting didn’t live up the the Media and the leftists expectations. They’ve practically invited them to humiliate Trump. Perhaps there’s still time. Seems to me that as much as our left denigrates and delegitimize the foreign leaders have all been paying homage.
For the first time in many years, The world is TERRIFIED of the U.S.
I’m glad I’m on the winning team here.
Margaret Thatcher showed no reaction after order to sink Belgrano ship during Falklands War, papers reveal
The extraordinary insight comes from a newly released document in which she set down her own account of the 1982 Falklands War
From 140 word tweets to 60 cruse missile strikes.
No focus groups were involved.
Consider Trump at the press conference:
Total control...replies are instantaneous.....direct.....truthful, devastating and unexpected
Same same at the command center.
THE DOG THAT DIDN’T BARK...
Usually State meetings produce some pre-agreed-to public relations ‘big deal’. Not sure what to make of the deficiency, but I’m sure it’s significant.
In a possible harbinger of the kind of punishments Washington could inflict, a leading Chinese telecoms company, ZTE, was fined nearly $900 million in March for shipping sensitive U.S.-made technology to Iran in violation of U.S. sanctions.
I wonder how much of that was built into the price...
in the end Iran ended up with the sensitive technology.
I don’t think it would be allowed to happen at all
under the new administration.
Most round eyes want to close the deal asap.
It won’t happen.
Having done business for 30 years in Asia, including the China early days, build the relationship and have patience in doing so.
What an idiotic idea, this meeting was not “billed” as a “showdown”.
So, this brash fellow we elected seems to know more about subtlety and saving face for one’s opponents than the pseudo elite. There are few skills more worthy than protecting one’s opponent. Well done, President Trump.
Chinese President Xi Jinping comes across as intelligent, introverted and kind. Not what I was expecting.
