Im beginning to think that some folks screwed the pooch on the initial intelligence assessment of the gassing allegation and are trying to lay the framework of excuses for why there may be no actual evidence forthcoming. The below-linked article is the first Ive heard of the hospital being bombed possibly in an effort to cover up evidence of chemical weapons usage.
IMHO, that (i.e., an alleged cover-up of evidence) sounds like bullshit by the senior Pentagon officials who were the anonymous sources for this Fox story. Good reporters will continue to ask wheres your evidence questions.
Anyhow, here is the article:
Excerpt:
Senior U.S. military officials said Friday the Pentagon is looking into whether Russia played a role in the chemical weapon attack in Syria that prompted retaliatory action from the Trump administration.
The U.S. officials said they were reviewing evidence regarding the attack on the northern Syrian town of Khan Sheikhoun, where more than 80 people were killed.
They said a drone belonging either to Russia or Syria was seen hovering over the site of the chemical weapons attack Tuesday after it happened.
The drone returned late in the day as citizens were going to a nearby hospital for treatment. The hospital was bombed shortly afterward, officials said, possibly in an effort to cover up evidence of chemical weapons usage.
The U.S. says a sarin-like nerve agent was used. Syria denies the claim. And the Kremlin says Syrias government wasnt responsible.
The U.S. officials also said theyre aware of Russians with chemical weapons expertise whove been in Syria.
I sincerely hope that our people on the ground there have someone with the same sort of expertise there as well because everyone except the US media talking heads knows that the ISIS AlQ thugs have used chemical weapons on numerous occasions.
Trump chose an option, he's the guy in charge so let him deal with the consequences if there are any. He'll either be able to focus on the domestic agenda that got him elected or he'll be jerked around by people on the Hill for four years while trying to carry out that agenda. Either way, we dodged a bullet by having him instead of Hillary.
Relax and think about how many judges he's going to end up putting on the USSC. Let your imagination run wild and remember, even the turtle was willing to go to the "nuclear" option to give Trump the judge he wanted.
