No. Take your “grief” elsewhere. Just because we support Trump does not mean we cannot criticize his policy.

Well maybe. I’m sure that Trump will try to moderate Putin’s territorial ambitions if he can.

And he will be listening to the advice of McMaster, Mattis and other professional military regarding what we can actually hope to do. McCain and Graham and Rubio would have us openly hostile to Russia and we could expect nothing but bad from Russia in that case.

Sun Tzu says that what is greatest is to achieve your goal without firing a shot. Neocons appear to believe in belligerence for its own sake.

I’ll leave you to your superior wisdom. For what that’s worth.

The Freepers that are abandoning our president clearly don’ believe he can think for himself.

I’m going to ask again, does thinking, questioning, or even disagreeing with Trump mean someone is abandoning him?

I think not.

Just because someone questions does not mean they are abandoning anyone. I am happy we have President Trump; however, I don’t like Jared and Ivanka in the White House taking over policy, I did not like the Ryancare bill, I did not like the internet bill, and I am not sure I like the Syrian attack...Time will tell on that...

That said, I would vote for Trump in a New York Minute.

I believe Trump can think for himself, and I think Freepers should be able to do the same ;)

And you see no problem with it. Unfortunately all too typical.

Inasmuch as the United States hasn't formally declared War since 1941—that's over 75 years—it just seems like raising that particular technical issue isn't the most important aspect of these events.

Boy! Talk about getting wrapped up in semantics!

As I noted, there is ample legal and political precedent regarding the Constitutionality of a President's military authority in cases such as this.

You might want to get started drafting those articles of impeachment yourself, because I don't think even the Democrats will be getting worked up over this use of Presidential War powers...

He sent a BIG message to a lot of people. I have to believe that he had intelligence that proved who did this...as illogical as it seems. Do you think Trump is so stupid that he doesn’t realize that he can’t automatically trust the intelligence people? You think Iran isn’t paying attention, or North Korea? Would you rather he pull a BarackObama and say “you’d better not cross this line....you better not”.

We all supported our man...I have to believe he knows more than I do and had good reasons for doing this. That is what I think at this point.

Just like we dropped the Atom bombs, not so much to send a message to Japan, but to send a message to Stalin.

Indeed!

Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin said he had been briefed on the strikes, and called them "a measured response to the Syrian nerve gas atrocity." ...

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said, "Making sure Assad knows that when he commits such despicable atrocities he will pay a price is the right thing to do."

George W Trump

Nonsense. It was a show of strength that sent a message to North Korea and other rogue states we won't rollover when they threaten us.

As long as we don't go to war in Syria, it's no big deal.

Constitutionalists are supposed to be better than Democrats. You are espousing al a carte constitutionalism, a source of our problems.

Trump came across as more sincere in that brief speech than Obama ever did in eight years.

Up to now, Freepers have lauded Trump for playing 4-D chess. It will take time to see how this plays out. Trump may have seen no downside risk to acting abruptly, even with uncertain information. If it turns out that Assad’s forces were not responsible for the “chemical weapons”, then Trump will be mildly embarrassed at taking an unprovoked punch at someone we’ve said we want out of power anyway. He will still have demonstrated that he’s willing to take immediate, strong action based on the best information he has, and focused only on military targets.

The message goes far beyond Syria — to North Korea, to China, to Russia, and to anyone else who might stir up trouble.

Excellent, rational post. Thank you.

At least the Moron Bush built a case before attacking Iraq...

That is because we went to war in Iraq. We haven't gone to war in Syria.

The rationale was the use of chemical weapons. Obama did nothing and Trump wanted to prove he won't roll over and let war crimes be tolerated like Obama did. It also sent a message to North Korea.

I hope, though, he's not thinking about going to war with Syria.

"At least the Moron Bush built a case before attacking Iraq..."

Are you comparing a targeted attack on a single military facility to an invasion of an entire nation with the hope/fantasy of setting up a pro-Western, democratic government?
