Unless all the other girls in her lacrosse pictures are also giraffes (it’s possible), it’s likely a typo.

Ah, now I get it. She took down the mirrors because she always has her tongue hanging out. It would be easier on the school custodian if she’d learn to close her jaws. Other people learned how. It’s not that difficult.
