Helen Beristain voted for Donald Trump even though she is married to an undocumented immigrant.
In November, she thought Trump would deport only people with criminal records -- people he called "bad hombres" -- and that he would leave families intact.
"I don't think ICE is out there to detain anyone and break families, no," Beristain told CNN affiliate WSBT in March, shortly after her husband, Roberto Beristain was detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
In a statement to CNN, ICE said, "On April 4, 2017, officers with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) removed Roberto Beristain Cegueda to Mexico via Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. ERO officers turned him over to Mexican authorities at the Paso Del Norte Port of Entry in El Paso, Texas."

20 years of freedom from that rathole. Now he has to go serve his lifetime sentence there. Too bad.

If he is flying under the radar, he probably did not apply for a driver’s license. No license, no parking ticket.

I predict that magically EVERY citizen spouse of an illegal will have voted for Trump.
(my my my....how could THAT happen?)

Marry illegal? Not too bright.
Especially when there's a process to MAKE your foreign spouse legal.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
Why didn’t they apply for legal entry? He married a US citizen and could have fixed that easily. I’m more than okay with deporting him . . . and at least 11 million more illegals.

Eeh yeah. I don’t know that this one is winning.
He seems like the kind of person we want in our country.
He built a fine business, became significant in his community, built a family and has no criminal record above his being here illegally.
He showed up every year as ICE demanded, got a work permit somehow and some kind of Social Security number. The SS is odd, as it is unique Homeland Security.
Still, I hope he is able to return and continue his life here in America.
But, he did break the law and was under an order for deportation.
Looks like his number came up.

funny.
If i were an illegal i might claim i was a Trump supporter, too.
You know they might give me a little break if i claim i am pro-Trump.
That’s my guess.

This is messed up. Marrying a U.S. citizen gets you a more-or-less automatic green card unless the marriage is a sham.

“...Clintonista operatives in ICE farmed through the records to find someone to create just this narrative.”
The same thought crossed my mind as I read the article. It really does appear that he has a clean record which would gain sympathy from a large number of Americans.

Yep. I have friend who was undocumented.
His parents came here illegally when he was 1 year old.
at the age of 18 he married his high school sweat heart.
at 23 he thought it best to become a legal citizen. Took him two years but, he did it.
Just the best guy.

I clearly remember a middle-aged male who would marry a very young Mexican girl, stay with her a bit to ensure her status as a citizen through marriage (ala Obama).
He would then divorce her and repeat the process ad infinitum.
Maybe money involved, maybe not.

This is messed up. Marrying a U.S. citizen gets you a more-or-less automatic green card unless the marriage is a sham. Exactly. There are big details missing from this story. Certainly can't expect CNN to provide any bits that might detract from their narrative. Too bad we no longer have Paul Harvey to say...

He did have a drivers license and an SS card. They were issued to him by imigration. He has a active deportation order agaisnt him, but ICE or whoever, let him stay in the country provided he met certain conditions. Trump changed the policy so anyone with deportation orders get imediatly deported. This guy got caught by that policy change. It's an interesting story, check here if you want more details.
