Amateurs faking professionalism don’t make them professionals
Security clearances are NOT earned. They are granted upon completion of background checks. These days mot checks are just phone calls to numbers supplied by the person being checked. Which is why there are so many leaks and traitors (Snowjob, Unmannly) in high places and low (Birddog).
Before B. Clinton instituted this easy check up policy, it used to be for a mid-level (code word) clearance that everyone you knew or with whom you had contact were interviewed by the FBI personally. Cost per was in the million dollar range or higher.
No one would even dream of talking about anything - not ever - back in the day.
