They arrested him because he left the property, went to his other house next door, got a gun, returned, and then killed the man.
It is Washington state not Texas where this happened. Don’t understand why anyone would stick around when confronted the first time
I don’t think self defense would fly even in TX after leaving the scene of the confrontation. CO’s “Make My Day Law” wouldn’t cover it either in spite of opinions to the contrary.
That didn't make sense to me either.
Why didn't the burglar run away?
Why stay hidden behind the shower curtain?
The most likely scenario was that the owner was leaving to call the police. But why would the intruder take THAT chance either?
The homeowner was plain dumb for putting HIMSELF in danger.
He had no idea what the intruder was going to do or was armed, etc.
Like they say: If you come home, and it looks like your property has been broken into DON'T go in. Call the cops.
Last thing you want to do is go inside and surprise the home-breaker.
That will end... poorly for you.
