Here’s something to consider: Experts who have left the government say this kind of surveillance began shortly after 9/11/2001. Remember the mood of the country at that time, and the unprecedented act GWB took.
Consider then that this surveillance may have it’s roots back that far. Yes it’s been expanded under Obama but could his “get out of jail” card simply be proof that this was all “inherited”?
I know many here don’t like GWB or his father or neocon staff but that’s not the question. The question is, if Obama can promise to bring Bush down too, is that sufficient leverage to keep him immune from prosecution and to keep this whole dirty business buried?
