C-119?
C-117D Skytrain The Douglas R4D Skytrain (later designated C-117) was the military version of the famous DC-3 airliner. Skytrains were used to establish the Naval Air Transport Service (NATS) during World War II, and in a variety of specialized roles including paratrooper deployment and training. After the war, Skytrains continued to serve into the '80s, and modernized versions featured new outer wing panels, a longer fuselage, enlarged tail, and higher rated engines, substationally increasing performance.
Douglas AC-47D Spooky aka "Puff, the Magic Dragon"
We had one save my company one night in March of 1969. In 1977 I flew in a USMC plain transport version of the C-117, IIRC, back from Manila to Subic.
A real workhorse!
