Gowdy, a former federal prosecutor, that has worked with federal agencies and knows what their REAL jobs are and Sessions. Lord help the first MoFo that crosses their paths. That would be an epic situation.
An anonymous source says it is true. In fact it is a senior anonymous source saying so.
A vanity rumor speculation with zero facts is not “Breaking News” - this is an abuse of FR. This is not the NY Times, ha ha.

If Comey were to be ‘fired’, I would expect him to publicize the drama and drag it out for many, many weeks. For whatever reasons Comey seems to think he cannot be touched or brought down.
I definitely would NOT expect Gowdy to take his place. Gowdy appears more inclined to avoid or phase out his exposure to such hot spots of power. Gowdy does not seem to have the fire in the belly for leading any long, protracted battle against unsympathetic party forces. Recall, if you will, how that Bengazi Investigation fizzled out. And stayed ‘fizzled out’. Gowdy seems to be preparing for some nice Judgeship or head of a think tank-lobbyist role.
Something more in the background vs front and center.
The source is a friend who texted me. He did not say it was true. He said it was just heard and he is not an indulger of fake news.
Like I said, as soon as I hear this is fake, if not sooner, I will ask for the thread to be pulled.
In the meantime, critics and naysayers are welcome and those with comments and remarks about Comey and Gowdy are welcome as well.

FBI director can be fired, but only one (William Sessions) has ever been fired - and that was after months of allegations about bribes, etc..
Certainly any firing will be highly political, so there would need to be a long and focused campaign against a sitting FBI director before even attempting to do so.
Sessions was fired by Bill Clinton, who along with Chelsea Clinton’s Father, Janet Reno, appointed Louis Freeh as FBI Director.
I hope I’m wrong about Gowdy, but he’s all talk. He hasn’t punished one single person. I would not be shocked if he’s just a very good actor that is a gatekeeper for the republicans and democrats. But I will definitely give him a chance.
