President Trump's funding request for a border wall will likely be put on hold, Senate Republican leaders signaled Tuesday.
Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, announced at a leadership press conference that Trump's supplemental funding request will wait until later in the year.
He said the Senate and House leadership are very close to negotiating a bill to fund government for the rest of 2017.
Adding a supplemental spending bill requested by Trump to pay for military activities and a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border would complicate the talks and should be dealt with at a later date, Blunt added. "We have the FY17 defense bill," Blunt said, noting it is the top priority of Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and could be used as a vehicle to pass bills funding other federal departments.
"All of the committees, the leaderships of the House and Senate, are working together to try to finalize the rest of the FY17 bill," he added. "My guess is that comes together better without the supplemental."

Truth is we know what they are up to.
So in other words none of Trumps mandate is going to get thru congress or the judiciary. Time to form regiments.

President Trump can do the same to get construction started on border wall security to protect Americans from a real and present threat.
I’d consider my ‘contribution’ as a down payment for sovereignty, security and for all the $$$$ that will be saved by keeping MEXICO in MEXICO.
This guy, Roy Blunt, “a never-Trump” guy, was 6% behind in the polls for his reelection campaign on Nov. 8.
Massive turnout for Trump in Missouri enabled him to win by 3% on Trump’s coattails. (Trump won Missouri 56.4% to 37.9% for Hillary.)
Blunt doesn’t get it, as he thinks voters actually cast their ballots for him and not for Trump or against Clinton.
So, now Blunt pays Trump back.
I called his office and got thru immediately. Melt down the switchboard.
We need that wall, it is a force multiplier and apolitical. Wire ain’t going to hack it.
