“walking by a store called The Body Shop... the most prominent image in the front window was a poster of two scantily clad teen-looking females in embrace with the words Make love not war”
Funny, my 12 yr old and I were in the mall yesterday and saw that same poster in that shop’s window. We both looked up at it with identical, carefully blank expressions and then he said, “Okaaay. Moving right along”, and then he started walking again. Around the corner he said, “I have seen so much of that stuff in this mall today, Mom”. Then, he accurately sited some of the same-sex couples with kids that we had passed, some that I hadn’t even noted, myself. He said that there was a certain “closeness” between the adults that clued him in.
If only every teenage kid had similar a reaction, we might see a serious protest for such a poster that would be hard to ignore.
