Personally, I don’t see any difference between a Totalitarian System and a Democratic System. Leaving things to the Whims of the People is as bad as leaving them to the Whims of the Dictator or the Party.

Now a conflict between a Republic and a Totalitarian System, I can understand and get behind.

Representative government in which citizens vote is a democratic system. A constitutional Republic is a democratic system.

Everyone knows that the U.S. is not a direct democracy.

When free people vote they do not vote for a system that robs them of their freedom and their possessions unless they are deluded.
