Because, by themselves, the Freedom Caucus lacks the votes to evict Ryan. Period!
And that’s unfortunate for us all.
Please read my post 75. Ryan set as a condition for his accepting the Speakership that he must have the backing of the FC. They could at least publicly ask him if that requirement still holds, or whether he’s willing to cling to the office in the face of their united opposition.
