Wallace is lying again, or doesn’t know what he’s talking about, conflating the issue of “pre-existing conditions”.
Jordan laid it out. You lower the price of coverage for health Americans by getting rid of “community rating” and provide coverage for the (very few) “pre-x’s” with High Risk Pools.
Walice: but then you’ll only be insuring healthy people.......
DUH!!!!
That’s what I’ve been saying, and exactly what “insurance” does. What we have now, is not insurance.
Those millions of “people who will lose their ‘insurance’ without Obamacare” AREN’T PAYING FOR IT!
I agree completely with Jordan’s take on the issues, but disagree with his defeat of the initial passage, it truly was an intermural battle which made Republicans, HFC and the President look stupid, weak and petty. They could have completely changed it at several points.
That title and docket number: HB1628...THE AMERICAN HEALTH CARE ACT OF 2017 would not have been enacted in the same form as emerged from the House.
The Senate certainly would have modified it, especially with lots of pressure from the President and the public. If that wasn’t enough, the bill would have to go back to the House for concurrence, it could have bounced back and forth for the entire session and either get killed or passed.
Then if the President didn’t like it, HE could kill it.
At least the bill would still be in play (and it might well still be)
No matter what bill comes from the House, with the blessing of the Freedom Caucus...that same process will apply.
We know that the GOPe and many conservatives hate Trump. They would have preferred losing to Hillary than see Trump in the WH. Now they are undermining Trump to ensure he is a one term President.
