I watched the Gorsuch hearings and I came away thinking we have another Souter on our hands. Hope I am wrong.
the last I heard was that all 1,400 required some lengthy analysis and were still under review. Of course, they were hoping they all would be moot in short order.
Now, any directive fixes only make Obiecare more palatable...
The dems do absolutely nothing to help things insisting to play hardball politics. Problem is no one plays hardball better that Pres. Trump.
Why the disappointment? What Trump tweeted is the truth.
Hard to say what Pres. Trump will do next.My guess is he will move on to the wall, economy, military etc. and come back to zerocare when it makes sense.
speaking of Price’s 1,400 “the director shall/may” options.
There also some 1,200 waivers. Trump should consider some waivers to small business owners so they could hire and not be required live with the mandates.
So you supported RyanCare, UniPartyCare, OboCareLite?
The HFC wants a FREE MARKET system...and RyanCare is NOT a Free Market system
Rodguy-I am afraid the GOPe will try and stop Trump re the fence, tax reform etc. These people will stop at nothing to damage him. I think this “loss” was a big one for him in prestige, even though the bill sucked. Maybe that is why Trump said to watch Jenine Pirro last night. She shredded Ryan.
What is needed is a clean bill killing zero care and letting the free market get back into the business of selling insurance to those who want to buy. That takes care of 90% of the population. To think that our President can't figure out how to take care of the rest is naive at best.
Great post and you are correct.
You have to expand on that.
What is it about Souter that so offends you? And why does Gorsuch remind you of him?
Gorsuch was very respectful and by me he gave all the right answers.
But the Dems are blocking him anyway, I think to force the Repubs to change Senate rules on nominating a Supreme court judge.
Just a hunch.
This 60 vote filibuster rule is stupid anyway, it’s not in the constitution, they use it when it suits them....get rid of it.
I agree. Trump tweeted out a huge dig which those groups he mentioned deserved.
I’m kind of laughing here. Never seen another president do this.
You are correct, from now on Pres.Trump will have to fight the losers on our side and the entire left. Only “we here” have his back. But I gotta tell ya every time I underestimate this man he proves he is up to the task. I have not given up on him. He is far more resilient than anyone knows.
Looks like Wall ASS screwed up he let Newt on the panel and he will set the record straight.
A question for those who may follow this. What role did Tom Price play in this healthcare bill? He’s my congressman (or he was). Seems odd he would resign his seat for this.
“So you supported RyanCare, UniPartyCare, OboCareLite?”
Non-Sequitur. What Trump said was the TRUTH.
Catastrophic plans with low premiums would emerge, coupled with health savings accounts, no state line restrictions ending monopolies , enhancing competition, lowering prices, tort reform even just as Texas has capped payouts, large co-ops, the Trumpster negotiating drug prices.
And no government in between you and your doctor. The consumer's desires and infallible collective wisdom will work just fine.
Jim Jordan needs to step up and tell Ryan to get a new healthcare passed.
Unfortunately, rendering rulings that are the opposite of their philosophy/judicial views they made up to the point of the confirmation hearings is always a risk with Supreme Court Justices—or any federal judge, for that matter.
You would think that any smart judge would always rule in favor of the Constitution as WRITTEN. How can they not?
Yet some do. I don’t know how that can truly be stopped by the original nominator—or Senate—when the eventually appointed and approved judge start’s making actual rulings.
Some just go wobbly (Kennedy, O’Connor, and Souter) and others were plain liars during their initial vetting or hearings (Sotomayor, Kagan).
We have to pray that they’ll do the right thing in each and every case brought before them, but their decisions need to be ultimately based on the Constitution.
