You’re absolutely right (as usual). I am surprised that Trump has tried to count on the Rs this long. His natural tendency is to gravitate to those who want to “make a deal”. I even notice one of my Senators (Sherrod Brown) astonishingly agreeing with Donald now and then on specific causes/issues. I think Trump will construct selected coalitions on each issue and push it for what it is worth - dragging McCain and Graham behind the bus on all of them. Brown and Trump love jobs. The Congressional Black Caucus would join him on inner city infrastructure and jobs (e.g Flint water).
Cruz currently testifying in Gorsuch hearing.
Trump either miscalculated his trust in Lyin Ryan.....or used Ryancare to have Ryan step down from Speaker.
I choose to believe the later. The Donald may be learning, but I don’t think he forgot the numerous ways Ryan offered no, or weasel support during the election
Yes, that was quite an impressive win over Kansas.
There is nothing stopping the DOJ from bringing federal charges based upon evidence assembled and submitted by the NYPD. The FBI can sit it out, and probably wise for Sessions to by-pass them. They need a good kick in the pants (short of firing Comey, for now).
Somebody better sit Trump down and remind him who put him in office!! It sure as hell wasn’t the Rinos. We beat them like red headed step children. IT WAS FREE MARKET CONSERVATIVES, and by the way , we don’t care about “tax REFORM’!! We want tax CUTS!! Don’t move the chairs on the deck opf the titanic. REDUCE OUT ACTUAL TAXES!
Oops, Cruz is done speaking, diaper boy Franken filibustering now.
What’s the question moron?
(forced arbitration)
Kabar, I have some good news for you. The Millenials are now being supplanted by a new generation called Generation Z. And there much more conservative.
From the Daily Mail:
Teenagers born after 2000 - the so-called ‘Generation Z’ - are the most socially conservative generation since the Second World War, a new study has found.
The youngsters surveyed had more conservative views on gay marriage, transgender rights and drugs than Baby Boomers, Generation X or Millennials.
The questioned were more prudent than Millennials, Generation X and Baby Boomers but not quite as cash-savvy as those born in 1945 or before.
From Quora.com
Some facts about generation Z:
A study done in 2014 by Generation Z Goes to College found that Generation Z students identified as being loyal, compassionate, thoughtful, open-minded, responsible, and determined but viewed the other people in our generation as, competitive, spontaneous, adventuresome, and curious.
A 2016 American study found that church attendance was 41% among Generation Z, compared with 18 percent for Millennials at the same ages.
Generation Z is also more risk-averse in some areas compared to the Millennials. In 2013, 66% of teenagers had tried alcohol, down from 82% in 1991 and in 2013, 8% of Gen. Z teenagers never or rarely wear a seatbelt when riding in a car with someone else, as opposed to 26% in 1991.
A study done by the Annie E. Casey Foundation in 2016 found that generation Z had lower teen pregnancy rates, less substance abuse, and higher on time high school graduation rates compared to Millennials.
Generation Z outnumbers both the baby boomers and the Millennials and makes up 25% of the US population
Generation Z grew up during the great recession and has a feeling of unsettlement and insecurity.
Agree.
Trump better remember who brought him to the dance and start plotting to get rid of the Speaker.
Ryan has to go. Period.
The only thing I dont understand is why we havn’t just repealed obozocare. We don’t want to buy other peoples healr5th insurance . They can go to the ER.
I think Trump is a good man but I see him as apolitical novice and he got duped by left wingers in the republicrat party and sold a piece of absolute crap for legislation full of GOVERNMENT. LIMIT GOVERNMENT!!Trump needs to get Rinse penis out of there before it is too late and bring Newt in for advice. WE WILL NOT TOLERATE RINO LIBERAL CRAP!! If Trump dances with the devil democrats he loses 60,000,000 votes!!
Real reason they are avoiding interstate competition... It would mean state employees who regulate the insurance monopolies in each state would be out of jobs and lobbying monies curtailed... Ryan, et al, would go up against SEIU...they dont want that to happen.
No.
The members of the various state’s Bureaus of Insurance do what the laws tell them to do.
The state legislators regulate the insurance industry by enacting laws, something changes every year. If they feel so inclined, they can make their domestic market climate more favorable, or, if a permanent RAT state....kill if off entirely.
Well, you're probably on to something there. Jim Jordan needs to take a cue from DJT and start tweeting with him.
Get a bill out of the House tomorrow, and shut down this perception of defeat.
He could strip all text after the title, copy/paste portions, or his entire bill, as replacement language in HB1628, and present it as a floor amendment.
(unless some unseen House rule prevents that)
“...McCain attacking Conservatives...”
What’s interesting to me is that he finds it necessary to do so from out of the country. Also, he seems to be out of the country pretty often. Ready to leap to a place with no extradition? Or maybe he just doesn’t like the USA!
Watching the Sunday Morning Shows is an impossible task for me. Instead I am watching Sunday Morning Futures. Trump seems to be very naive. Mukasey is supports Trumps wiretaps tweet whole heartedly. Maria asked him point-blank if he was surprised that Trump didnt fire Comey. Mukasey responded that the only time Trump could get rid of Comey was at the beginning of term as POTUS. His decision not to do that is worrisome. That decision and his decisions to support Ryan as Speaker and now badmouthing his most ardent supporters is very troubling.
Did Did anyone catch Jim Jordan with Chris Wallace ? He sure didnt want to answer the questions put to him. Wallace said he was told the FC wanted to do away with pre-existing conditions. Jordan tried to deflect the question-never really answered it. Jordans body language was quite telling. He looked uncomfortable and was shifting around in his chair.
Someone asked Pres. Trump (after the bill went down) what hed learned from these negotiations? Our President said I learned about loyalty
The FC is loyal to the lobbyists, the Koch brothers and the COC and not WE the people or this President.

What prompted my post was a sentence in your analysis that said: "The reality is that the GOP does not want to repeal Obamacare."
One of the best sources for information and analysis I've found throughout Campaign 2016, and now the Trump Administration, has been Sundance at The Conservative Treehouse. He posted on Friday the following article which amplifies and explicates your argument in painful detail. It's an uncomfortable read, but I strongly recommend it. I hope you find it useful.

Yes, it was short.

Except that's not what happened. Walice wouldn't shut up as he tried to answer. I heard what he said, and it is correct.
There are two main "remedies" for coverage of prex. The whole idea of health insurance is to insure healthy people who might get sick.
The free market solution which Jordan referred to is called a High Risk Pool. These deliberately isolate the already-sick applicants from the healthy "standard risk pool" The HRP patients are about 1% of the insured population and a properly structured pool is funded by a policy surcharge of a few cents per month, from every possible coverage option imaginable, including self-insured companies.
This leaves a large pool of healthy individuals who may get sick, but will pay very low premiums (premiums are directly tied to claims)
The other "remedy" is one of the stupidest things imaginable. "Guaranteed issue" throws in all the people who get very sick (AIDS, cancer etc) and have $100K or higher claims every year for the rest of their lives, and NOW decide to buy "insurance".
They are placed in the standard risk pool, and shoot claims through the roof and make it impossible for the carriers to access risk. GI can cause a state's market to have premiums double or triple.
Jordan mentioned both of these things and Walice decried that he only wanted to insure healthy people.
FOLKS, that's what's supposed to happen in "health insurance"...just by definition. (insure your health)
First, you have to have some health to insure.
