The controversy over the basement was caused by Alefantis posting a photo on Instagram and calling it a “killroom.”
When people asked about it, he told Fox News that he didn’t have a basement. Then someone produced an interview he did on the Comet Ping Pong pizza sauce and he said he “stored it in the basement.”
Then the photos of him in a basement turned up. (Probably from his other restaurant.)
My opinion is that he’s a sick puppy, but I don’t think he’s transporting kids through his basement or non-basement.
That was pretty much my take on it (regardless if whether he has involvement sick masochistic pedophilia ---or not)
Thank you for the first few paragraphs you wrote also. Alefantis can hardly complain? I forgot about that aspect...
I saw the pics of the basement foundation/flooring work. It looked like there could have been plumbing/sewage installation and/or re-working being done. It appeared there would have remained enough overhead clearance once flooring foundation was established the space could have been in some way utilized.
Are you saying the "pizza sauce in the basement" comment was about another Comet Ping Pong location? Or perhaps another Alefantis pizzaria?
I was under the impression the freezers that were remarked about by Alefantis; 'looked like kill rooms' of just "killrooms", could have been installed in a basement area too, though I could be wrong in having guessed about restaurant freezer/cooler location.
I did see the remark about the pizza sauce "kept in the basement" in a previously published interview. It was part of coverage of Comet Ping Pong that included mention of Alefantis cooking down and canning (in large jars, I take it) his own pizza sauce. That makes economic sense, and ingredient control "sense". Otherwise a pizza operator has to buy cans of pre-made sauce.
My understanding is someone else labeled it "killroom".
Didn’t he call the basement a “kill room” on Instagram?
