Such pictures are themselves illegal. All that it would have taken to prosecute Alefantis is for someone to have copied the pics and taken them to a prosecutor. You’re asking us to believe that no one bothered to do so.
There’s a lot of law enforcement whose sole job is to hunt down pictures like this even when it’s hiding on the Dark Net. It’s not credible that they all would miss a high profile character like Alefantis whose photos are on the worldwide web. Deleting them from his Instagram account wouldn’t make them disappear. People learn that to their dismay all the time.
I’m pretty sure Anons from 4Chan and InfinityChan archived everything before he deleted it. Nevertheless I’m not sure there was hard evidence to arrest him based on the disturbing pics as they were not illegal per se but distgustingly suggestive.
I also recall when that tiny little twerp tweeted a taunt at Assange and the response from Wiki was also suggestive of Podesta being a sick bastard. Not as direct as Breitbart’s tweet but clever nonetheless.

The picture of our toddler boy appearing to reach for the grown man’s buttocks? Sexualized comments are made, but the photo isn’t illegal because the man is wearing a small Speedo.
The picture of the shirtless boys in masks caressing their chests? Taken from a film clip.
His house band singing about pedophilia? Having images of a boy tied down to a table with a bloody backside in their video? Apparently that passes for art.
Does any of that mean that he’s the leader of some pedophile ring that Hillary Clinton runs? No.
It just means that he’s a friend of Tony Podesta (who gave him a penis cake for his birthday.)
