Only tax/spend issues can be dealt with through Reconcilation . . . To those who want full repeal, how is that accomplished?

That is a good question. My answer: Put nothing new in the repeal, so there is no appearance of a double-cross. Just repeal the tax and spending aspects of Obamacare through reconciliation, which gets it through the Senate without a filibuster. Make sure there are differences between the House and Senate bills as approved (if I understand reconciliation correctly, they can still go to a conference committee to fix discrepancies). Then use the conference committee, where the House and Senate iron out disagreements, to change the bill to a full repeal.

I'm okay with keeping very small, popular points from Obamacare, such as kids staying on parental insurance to age 26. I'm okay with block granting Medicaid spending in the conference committee. I'm okay with other limited changes. But I want the repeal to be as clean as possible and new changes to be passed independently rather than as a grand bargain.

That’s fascinating but we have Obamacare. Let me know how you will get a more conservative replacement or repeal passed. You’re talking about a fantasy conservative result that doesn’t exist.

I’m a real Freeper, I despise Ryan but I don’t exonerate Freedom Caucus, either. Unless they dump Ryan and get a health bill passed there is no progress here and only a disaster for a president who deserves better.

Your handle necessitated something ordinary. I really had no choice.

And with Ryan out of leadership.

Let’s talk about conservatives capitulating, and no longer advocating for limited constitutional government. That’s what you and a few others here are doing. Since when is it the measure of our success that we get something, anything passed? If Ryan offered single payer, that would get rid of Obamacare also, and by your logic, it would be imperative for us to support and pass it!

I am generally with you...I have said that to truly “fix” the system you would have to roll back to pre-employer paid insurance and traditional insurance, and go to “cash for service” with HSA’s and get the Feds OUT of the health care payment business (except for maybe Medicare...3rd rail issue...maybe phase it out for future workers, or add $ to SS payments to buy healthcare??) Your employer could give you the $12,000./yr. they are spending on your health benefits and you get to spend it on health care that would now be competitive: price lists published/posted, $500. MRI instead of $3000. MRI’s that are “adjusted” by insurance/Medicare down to the average reimbursement rate of 15%-20%, $60-80 doctor office visits, and pretty much 70%-80% off all other medical charges due to “real” prices. Then slowly re-introduce traditional insurance/risk pools and HSA’s with high deductible plans (like the wife & I need right now) and any other plan that consumers might want with or without coverage for birth control, mammograms, annuals, etc. etc....consumer decides. Pre-existing conditions could be handled with “high risk pools” with Medicaid-type subsides for those that truly couldn’t afford a plan. (no able body slackers). The odds of the GOPe/Uniparty doing the right thing are pretty low tho..

the Freedom Caucus just saved the Republican party from itself. Obamacare is still Obamacare, passed by Democrats. By not signing on to government-run healthcare of ANY stripe, the Freedom Caucus did the right thing.

I must say I like your post and you do have a good memory.
I wish you are correct. The polls will confirm your prognosis.

here’s what i think:

The enemedia articles about this are all delusional, and the best part is that they actually believe their own delusions.

I heard President Trump say a few weeks ago that his administration wouldn’t be addressing obamacare repeal and replace until late 2017 to early 2018 (basically when obamacare would be facing complete collapse), so I can’t wait to watch these fools freak the F out when his administration introduces a REAL repeal and replace bill 9 months from now.

As far as President Trump was concerned, RyanCare was nothing but a red herring intended to take Paul Ryan out of all future equations about everything.

RyanCare was a real abortion of a bill, obviously written by the insurance companies who were the only ones who were going to benefit from its passage. The insurance companies clearly had this bill already in hand, and I feel certain had cut a deal with Paul Ryan BEFORE the election, fully expecting HILLARY CLINTON to be President, but believing that some Pub House votes would be needed to get the bill through the House.

RyanCare was actually SUPPOSED to have been HillaryCare, which was why it preserved 99.9% of obamacare, and it was her gift to the insurance companies and her shafting of Trump’s voters, who are the people who would have suffered the worse under HillaryCare/RyanCare, with even higher premiums than we pay now.

Ryan went ahead with HillaryCare anyway, thinking he bulldoze the House into screwing their own constituencies even worse than happened with obamacare. If this had passed, Ryan also knew that it would totally sink Trump’s ship before four years was out, which was another major goal of Ryan’s, namely, try to destroy Trump.

I really didn’t think you had, and I’m sorry I wasn’t more clear about that.

Somebody (or multiple people) seem to be searching out OP ED articles negative either to President Trump or the Freedom Caucus. If enough poo slinging starts on the thread, it’s getting changed to breaking news. Most peculiar.

It’s been taken out of breaking news now, so all’s well. I can’t help but be curious as to why someone keeps doing this. Things that make you go hmmm.

Speaking of Paul Ryan, has anyone listened to Judge Jeanine eviscerate him tonight, saying he must resign?

Remember President Trump asked us to watch Judge Jeanine tonight?

I wonder if what she said about Paul Ryan was what he wanted us to hear.

I made a point to watch tonight only because a friend called to tell me that President Trump said he'd be delivering a message on Judge Jeanine's show tonight.

Daay-um, that was quite a scorcher! What I still don't know is where or how Trump delivered this message to watch Judge Jaanine tonight? Was it on twitter, or somewhere else?

I think that the Trump administration should revisit all the waivers and what not Obama enacted to take the pain away from his peeps. First on the list is to demand that Congress and their staff now enroll in Obamacare. Union waivers need to be tossed aside. All those waivers made for Pelosi and Harry need to be tossed. Let the full pain begin to be felt. Make them scream in pain to have Obamacare repealed and replaced.

We have a great Obamacare plan. The problem is, our assigned doctor is more than 500 miles from where we live. Great isn’t it?

and the responsibility rests squarely on shoulders of a small cadre of political opportunists with the effrontery to call themselves the “House Freedom Caucus.”

No, it rests squarely on the shoulders of Paul Ryan and President Trump for letting a disastrous bill get wings and pushing it to a vote. Knowing it would divide the majority party and find that there are still people with honor and principles.

Is there a “Repeal and Replace Ryan” campaign yet? Until there is a conservative Speaker, I see Domestic Enemy Ryan pulling the same sort of crap, snubbing the Conservatives, with each new piece of legislation. Ryan must go NOW, if any progress for the people is to be made.

***Blame Shift if it helps you sleep at night...***

No sh*t. Obamacare can be repealed in one bill if someone would write one. Hell, his argument it will take years? Someone could bring up the 2015 bill on Monday. The GOP wants Obamacare. Apparently President Trump does too. Damn I’m disappointed in him.
