President Donald Trump said on Friday that he was disappointed that a conservative faction in the House of Representatives blocked his healthcare legislation and said "we learned a lot about loyalty" from the effort.
Speaking in the Oval Office after a stunning political setback, Trump said the healthcare effort was a victim of stalwart Democratic opposition and any future healthcare legislation would likely need Democratic support.
He also said he was surprised and disappointed by the opposition from the House Freedom Caucus, a group of conservatives who prevented Republicans from using their majority in the House to pass the legislation.
Asked if he felt betrayed by the Freedom Caucus, Trump said he did not.

From what I see, Republicans have all three branches of government. Yet thus far, nothing has changed. The priority seems to be that of the Democrats in chasing Russian ghosts.
Granted there's been only a few months, but the lack of desire to remove Obamacare by the Republican party only supports my belief in how little difference there is between Dems and Reps, and Obamacare IS a product of Socialism.
Trust me....I pray I'm proved wrong.
You are wrong. Trump has already accomplished a lot through executive order to attack the agenda of the left. Gorsuch’s nomination is proceeding on schedule and soon Trump will be appointing federal judges whom the left would never confirm or appoint.
There is nothing rational in expecting a huge ocean liner of the government to turn on a dime or expect fast results from legislative bodies with arcane and out dated rules which are used to sabotage Republican intentions.
One must be patient and avoid the “are we there yet” crowd many of whom are Never Trumpers.
Paul Ryan is no hero to me but he should not be a scapegoat for you.
I have seen video where he is praising President Trump to the skies.
My problems are with the Republican Party, including the Never Trumpers.
You and I are likely on the same page with Trump, perhaps not the Republican party Establishment.
Regardless, all we can do as Conservatives is to call out those who either support Progressive ideology or decide not to oppose (the go along to get along crowd).
Things like Obamacare, Dodd/Frank and Illegal Immigration should be eliminated given the current party in charge. Hope you're right about being patient.
I love Trey Gowdy and have stood by him while he was attacked for most of the same reasons as Ryan: RINO, incompetent, bought off etc.
Ryan isn’t going anywhere, no one wants that thankless job.
What question would that be, Amigo?
lolololol the second most powerful position in DC and thus the world???? ....and no one wants it? clearly you have never been to DC. In DC they dont give a crap what you do, the women want to know how close you are to the most powerful people.
There are few capable of doing Ryan’s job and fewer still who would be willing to undertake the work and face fire in every direction. He is in no danger of being removed from the Speakers office.
Ryan is a straight arrow too and not interested in the sexual attractiveness of the office. And it is easy to see why.
