The chairman of the House intelligence committee has backed down from his dramatic assertion that Donald Trump and his aides were "monitored," by U.S. spies — a claim the Republicans have cited this week in fundraising emails.
Rep. Devin Nunes told reporters Friday he can't be sure whether conversations among Trump or his aides were captured in the surveillance that has become a source of controversy since Nunes made it public in two news conferences this week.
"He said he'll have to get all the documents he requested from the (intelligence community) about this before he knows for sure," his spokesman, Jack Langer, said earlier.
Langer asserted that Nunes did not explicitly say Trump was spied on when he briefed reporters Wednesday that he was "very concerned," that "the intelligence community incidentally collected information about American citizens involved in the Trump transition."
As for Trump's assertion that Obama wiretapped him, Nunes repeated Friday what he has said previously, telling reporters, "That didn't happen."

Nunes stated clearly that Trump Towers was not wiretapped.
He did NOT say cell phones were not listened to.
Wiretapping is old tech. NSA has much more accessible methods now.

I noticed he was nervous, not knowing what he had just learned about what he went to President Trump with, or knowing something in his past was going to be leaked, but something has diffidently happened...

He also threatened the star witness by bringing his brother in from Italy for no good reason but to intimidate the witness into not giving his true testimony.

Someone seems to have convinced him to change his mind on that. Instead, he's going to have a closed-door meeting with the main suspects to share with them what he has and who his sources are.
By Sunday he'll be saying "We now have definitive proof that Trump and Putin stole the election from Hillary. We can't share this super-secret information with the public, so you just have to take my word for it."
These people think their words can create reality.
The pressure on Nunes must have been astronomical.
Thank you for posting that link. Interesting that he says he knew about the “unmasking” of people’s names BEFORE he saw the documents. I’ll bet half of DC knew there was massive, extra-legal, surveillance going on, and kept it quiet.

At 8:20 of the news comfrence Nunes says there is no good reason that he has learned to unmask ( spy) Trumps team. NBCs headline is fake news..
I saw it live.
We caught a break today. NSA delayed the huge news release to get out of the News over run on replacing socialized medical insurance with Rinocare socialized medical insurance. MSM was using that for cover of the obama crimes. . NSA will drop the smoking gun this next Tuesday. That way it will be a much lighter news day with far more light shed on the felonies of the obama Whit House. But it will be important to cal Obama to testify under oath in congress as to what he knew and when he knew it.
