Not really. If you don’t maintain continuous coverage and have a gap of X amount of days, you pay a penalty to the insurance company when you sign back up for health insurance.

At least that’s what one version indicated. Since we haven’t actually seen what they are voting for on Friday, who the hey knows what it says or what it does now.

I’m concerned about what all of this does to private insurance thru employers. My rates have not gone up very much the past few years and I have good coverage. We don’t use it very often (knock on wood) because we’re both healthy. But it is nice to have good insurance when some unexpected thing comes up ... like a broken arm/leg, etc.
