Trump Ultimatum: Vote on Health Care Friday or Obamacare Stays
NBC News ^ | Mar 23 2017 | Leigh Ann Caldwell

Posted on 03/23/2017 5:28:48 PM PDT by mdittmar

Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney made clear Thursday evening that President Donald Trump is done negotiating on the hotly-debated health care bill and wants a vote on Friday.

And, if the president doesn't get a vote to repeal and replace Obamacare, he will move on to other priorities, Mulvaney said according to a source in the room during the tense talks with GOP members.

The latest salvo comes after House Republican leaders abruptly postponed a planned vote on the GOP health care bill Thursday as they struggled to find sufficient support to pass it. GOP lawmakers had previously been told procedural votes on the bill will still be held tonight and that a full vote on the measure could take place Friday.

I supported and voted for Trump, but will oppose him when he is wrong.
Ryancare is not repeal, not even close, in fact it makes Obamcare worse.

If Trump does not stop DACA, then Obama’s illegal program becomes Trump’s illegal program.
It does not become legal or Constitutional just because Trump keeps it operating as if it were law when it is not.

Is he not doing his level best on immigration?

Is he not showing more backbone towards the stinking msm that the last 10 GOP presidents?

Credit where it's due Jim, and trust his instincts.

Trump isn’t Jesus. Nobody has to follow him on every subject.

Tomorrow is R-Day - it’s Ryancare or Re-election, some of them will not get both.

Good one Bob

Who said “America First” first?

I’m just saying. It is a very good saying. Trump apparently agrees:

“The slogan has been criticized by some for carrying comparisons to the America First Committee, an isolationist organization that lobbied the United States against entry into World War II.[13] Trump denies being an isolationist, and said: “I like the expression.”[14] A number of scholars (such as Deborah Dash Moore), commentators (such as Bill Kristol) and Jewish organizations (such as the Anti-Defamation League and the Jewish Council for Public Affairs) criticized Trump’s use of the slogan because of its historical association with nativism and antisemitism.[15]”

That is a paragraph from Wikipedia, the link is:

You said..”Trump is much too good of a businessman to walk away from a promise”...

Oh but you’re forgetting that as a businessman negotiating he did say when you do your best and give it what you can sometimes it’s just better to walk away.......and he’s right on this one.

Has nothing to do with Trump keeping HIS promise...has to do with GOP being fully unprepared for the past 7 years and trying to save face at the finish line. They remain a do nothing group of political elites .....who feel quite secure in their positions.

I’m not mad at Trump about this Ryancare fiasco, he is trying to get a decent bill, the RINOs won’t give him one.

Isolationism only became a dirty word after France fell and it appeared the Germans were getting the upper hand.

Before that, people were convinced the war as going to be a stalemate as WWI was, without one side having a clear advantage.

So, you’re happy that DACA is still operating as if it were law and not something Obama dreamed up?

It boils down to keeping Obamacare or voting for Obamacare Lite.

These are the only two choices. And that is a fact.

Trumps not going to hurt anymore than the media and demorats are already doing......letting this beast implode is exactly what needs to happen. It’s not like he didn;t negotiate this thing...but as he says, sometimes you need to just walk away.
...(and come back another day to fight it, better it implode on itself as it surely will do)

Not really. If you don’t maintain continuous coverage and have a gap of X amount of days, you pay a penalty to the insurance company when you sign back up for health insurance.

At least that’s what one version indicated. Since we haven’t actually seen what they are voting for on Friday, who the hey knows what it says or what it does now.

I’m concerned about what all of this does to private insurance thru employers. My rates have not gone up very much the past few years and I have good coverage. We don’t use it very often (knock on wood) because we’re both healthy. But it is nice to have good insurance when some unexpected thing comes up ... like a broken arm/leg, etc.

Ryan thought he was the new sheriff in blazing saddles with his take it or leave it. Trump knows the people supporting him hope Ryan shoots the hostage. The house should have dumped Ryan last fall. The GOPe just knew the fix was in. They are used to playing poker at the club, they keep forgetting Trump OWNS the club!

Let the games begin. President Trump is still winning for us! To borrow a phrase, “Best election ever!”
