There has to be some kind of perverted sickness at work in Sweden. How can swedes just sit back and do nothing? Is it some kind of sick enjoyment they secretly harbor to see their fellow citizens abused like this?

Obviously, not excusing it, but the same thing is happening right here in the US within the sanctuary cities, schools and states and other locals throughout the country.

It goes on all across the US and the Leftist authorities in these places protect the illegals but ignore the plight of real victims who are citizens that, these same authorities have sworn to protect.
Just as the officials in Sweden don't want to admit their problems and errors in judgment by importing violent invaders into their country, they also don't want to ruin their "multicultural" diversity and tolerance social justice and political narratives to themselves or the rest of the world.
The liberals in this country are pushing this same tolerance of the illegal criminals as their narrative, just like Sweden. Notice the very first thing they are concerned about, is not the victim of the crime, but the poor illegal or "refugee" invaders. They don't want to unfairly besmirch all illegals for the crimes of a few or so they say. Disjointed and convoluted logic by the twisted Left.
What kind of moral compass do we have where the perpetrator is protected but the victims are blamed? Like you wrote, it is perverse and disgusting.
Who is being prosecuted among these authorities for not abiding by the federal law to work with ICE to deport these criminals? Answer....no one. And therein lies our bigger problem.
