It’s what defense lawyers do - make the victim the cause of the rapists’ action. If she wasn’t there there would have been no rape, but since she was, her fault.

In Maryland, persons aged between 14 and 16 may consent to sex as long as the other partner is not more than 4 years older It comes down to their birthdays on whether this means the 18 y/o rapist is automatically guilty or the prosecution has to prove force. For the 17 y/o, they have to prove force.
